We all need people to walk with us through life, especially on our faith journeys. And young people are no different. We know that youth are experiencing a time of unprecedented isolation and a lack of connection to their faith. Now more than ever, our youth need a community of people who will rally behind them, walk with them, love them, and point them to Jesus. Springtide Research Institute’’s 2020 study, “indicated how essential trusting adults were in the spiritual lives of youth. Among other key points, this study demonstrated an “undeniable” correlation between adult mentors and how young people understood their long-term meaning and purpose.” Mentoring, when done well, can transform youth, adult mentors, and your whole faith community. Through our five-year study, every participating parish said that their “parish had experienced something positive from the program, including increased effectiveness in engaging and involving young people in their communities.” We’re excited to offer a new online course, Mentoring at the Next Level, that will help you bring meaningful and effective mentoring to your parish community.
This 6-week course will include:
- mentoring foundations and best practices for accompanying youth,
- creating processes for sustainable mentorship ministries,
- Tools for you to create a specific plan for your parish community
- A cohort model, connecting you with ministry leaders from across the country
This course will take place once a week for an hour over Zoom, facilitated by Goodfaith’s staff. You’ll also have a chance to hear from mentors who have been accompanying youth for over five years in their parish communities. Between each of the sessions, participants can utilize our discussion forum and review resources, while working on personalized action plans to develop a mentoring ministry within their community.
Each cohort will be limited to 20 participants, so sign up soon to join our first cohort! Sessions will be held on Wednesday afternoons at 3 PM Eastern, starting April 30, 2025.
